CHARLOTTE, N.C. –
Lleyton Starke notched a season-best 10 kills, but Lees-McRae men's volleyball fell to Queens in three sets on Friday night in Charlotte.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Charlotte def. Lees-McRae, 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-21)
LOCATION: Curry Arena – Charlotte, North Carolina
RECORDS: Queens (7-3), Lees-McRae (0-6)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Queens used a seven-point run for the 16-10 lead in the first set and earned the opening set at 25-20.
- The Bobcats held the 18-14 lead in the second set, but the Royals battled back for the 25-21 set two win. Queens earned the final set at 25-21.
- Starke collected 10 kills on 31 attempts for the Bobcats and added one dig. Sebastian Heer had six kills on a .364 hitting percentage.
- Thiago Da Silva distributed 23 assists and recorded three digs, and four blocks in the match. Austin Beaird collected six digs in the contest and Ben Ratliff-Becher tallied five digs.
FOR THE ROYALS:
- Casey Maas led Queens in tonight's win with 12 kills and seven digs. Sev Alton tallied nine kills and Wilson Buchanan dished out 28 assists in three sets played.
