Mackenzie Sanford tallied a brace in this evening's 2-1 win over Ferrum in a Conference Carolinas match.

RECORDS: Lees-McRae (4-4-1/2-2-1); Ferrum (2-4-2/1-4-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Ferrum opened the evening with a goal from Breanna Herlihy in the fourth minute of the contest.
- Lees-McRae gained the possession and the momentum went back in favor of the Bobcats after the goal scored by the Panthers. Brooke Allen, Sanford, and Aubrey Tansey had chances in a five-minute period for the Bobcats, but Ferrum kept them scoreless.
- Sanford headed in a cross from Ezra Carpenter in the 21st minute as Lees-McRae tied the contest at 1-1. The Bobcats and Panthers went into the halftime break tied 1-1.
- The Bobcats continued their offensive attack in the second half with more shots on goal from Allen, Jordan Bartlinski, and Tansey. Sanford had her initial shot blocked, but followed up the shot for her second collegiate goal of her career in the 61st minute.
- Lees-McRae continued the pressure throughout the majority of the second half and collected the 2-1 win over Ferrum on Wednesday evening.
- The Bobcats held the advantage in shots with 29-7 and shots on goal, 17-4.
- Ferrum made 15 saves in the match and Ashli Wuss had 11 saves in goal for the Panthers.
