Karoline Springman collected a season-high 14 kills as Lees-McRae women's volleyball defeated Shorter in four sets in a Conference Carolinas match this afternoon.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae def. Shorter, 3-1 (25-21, 25-22, 17-25, 25-23)
LOCATION: McNair & Debi Tornow Court – Banner Elk, North Carolina
RECORDS: Lees-McRae (11-16/10-7); Shorter (14-11/11-6)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats claimed the 16-12 lead in the first set and earned the first set at 25-21 off a Hawk error. Lees-McRae used a 5-0 run in the second set for the 18-13 lead and earned the second set at 25-22.
- Shorter bounced back in the third set with the 25-17 win after hitting .303 in the set.
- Lees-McRae took the match in the fourth set with the 25-23 win. Clara Duarte tallied the match victory with a kill at 25-23.
- Springman notched a match-high 14 kills and added three blocks in the match. Sydney Stigler followed with 13 kills and 10 digs for a double-double.
- Duarte and Rebecca Ryan had nine kills each. Iza Rosin collected 45 assists and 10 digs in the contest. Brooke Ashkenase recorded a match-high 20 digs for the Bobcats.
