BANNER ELK, N.C. – Chowan defeated Lees-McRae men's basketball in the Conference Carolinas opener, 104-80, on Saturday evening on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court.
Isajah Deburgo had a team-high 22 points in 23 minutes of action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Chowan opened the game on a 5-0 scoring run and never let go of the lead. The Hawks earned the 104-80 win over Lees-McRae in Conference Carolinas play.
- Deburgo led four Bobcats in double-digit scoring with 22 points on 7-15 shooting and 7-7 from the free-throw line. Yerald Mieses followed with 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists off the bench.
- Dwight Canady and Chase McDuffie followed with 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Bobcats.
- Lees-McRae shot 37.1% (26-70) from the floor with eight made three-pointers and 20-33 from the charity stripe. The Bobcats scored 20 points off 20 Chowan turnovers.
