Karim Gegg registered two goals as Lees-McRae men's soccer collected the 3-0 win over No. 9 Belmont Abbey in the first round of the 2025 Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae started the contest with three shots on goal in the 12th minute, but Belmont Abbey's Trent McConnaughey made three incredible saves.
- Gegg finally found the back of the net on the fifth shot on goal off an assist from Nils Schulze in the 19th minute. The Bobcats held the 1-0 advantage after the first 45 minutes.
- Lees-McRae added to its lead in the 57th minute via Gegg. Conor O'Gorman recorded the assist after a cross into the box.
- Bartelt followed up a free kick from the Bobcats in the 71st minute for the third and final goal of the match.
- Sean Green made one save and collected his sixth shutout of the season. Belmont Abbey's McConnaughey made 11 saves in tonight's outing.
