BRISTOL, Tenn. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball Outside Hitter
Austin Beaird tallied a career-high 25 kills in Saturday's five-set victory at King in the first edition of the "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup".

FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae def. King, 3-2 (25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 14-25, 15-9)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats took the set advantage after an attack error from King's Alessandra Fermani for the 25-23 set win.
- King evened the match at one set apiece with a 25-21 set win in the second set. Lees-McRae pulled ahead once again after hitting .324 in the third set and Beaird delivered the set win with a kill at 25-23.
- King forced the final set with a decisive 25-24 set victory in the fourth set.
- The Bobcats used their best set in the fifth set after hitting .455 hitting percentage and holding King to a - .133 hitting percentage. Lees-McRae picked up the win with a 15-9 set win in Bristol, Tennessee.
- Beaird paced the Bobcats with 25 kills on an impressive .327 hitting percentage. Abdirahman Ahmed followed with a double-double after collecting 14 kills and 12 digs.
- Jadon Ciriacks just missed a double-double with nine kills and 14 digs. Thiago Da Silva had a season-best 50 assists and 10 digs for the Bobcats. Ben Ratliff-Becher recorded 13 digs at the libero position.
- Alex Barkley, Colton Bueter, and Grayson Stoudt all had 12 kills in Saturday's match. Javier Saldivar tallied a match-high 18 digs for the Tornado.
