GREENVILLE, S.C. – Lees-McRae men's tennis student-athletes
Max Borisov and
Isaac Yang claimed All-Conference Carolinas recognitions this afternoon, announced by the conference office. Borisov was named the player of the year, and Yang was voted to the second team on Thursday.
Borisov, a senior from Sofia, Bulgaria, completed an undefeated season at 18-0 and 10-0 in Conference Carolinas matches. Borisov is the first men's tennis player from Lees-McRae to earn player of the year since 2009, when Nandor Solymosi received the honor. Borisov was ranked as high as No. 56 in the Intercollegiate Division II National Singles Rankings in 2025 and only dropped six sets in his respective singles matches for the Bobcats.
Yang, a sophomore from Lima, Peru, went 14-4 this season for Lees-McRae and tallied an 8-1 Conference Carolinas mark at No. 2 singles this season. Yang ended the regular season on an eight-match win streak. Yang compiled a doubles record of 7-10 in 2025 with Ezequiel Arce.
Lees-McRae men's tennis earned the eighth seed in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Championship and opens play at 5:30 p.m. today against Barton in Sumter, South Carolina.
