ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Lees-McRae women's volleyball returned to action on Friday afternoon at the Flagler Invitational in St. Augustine, Florida. The Bobcats fell to the hosts Flagler in three sets and dropped a three-set match to Embry-Riddle on Friday evening.
GAME 1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Flagler def. Lees-McRae, 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-17)
LOCATION: Flagler Gym – St. Augustine, Florida
RECORDS: Flagler (2-4), Lees-McRae (0-4)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae cut the first-set lead of Flagler down to two at 15-13, but the Saints earned the opening set at 25-15.
- Flagler used a hitting percentage of .435 in the second set and .483 in the third set for the three-set sweep.
- Jadyn Walters led the Bobcats with six kills in two sets played. Clara Duarte and Rebecca Ryan followed with four kills each. Iza Rosin had 13 assists and Ryan tallied five blocks in the match.
- Emma Summerfield collected seven digs for Lees-McRae and Brooke Ashkenase followed with five in the contest.
GAME 2 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Embry-Riddle def. Lees-McRae, 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-23)
LOCATION: Flagler Gym - St. Augustine, Florida
RECORDS: Embry-Riddle (4-2), Lees-McRae (0-5)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae returned for its second match of the day against Embry-Riddle on the campus of Flagler College. The Eagles took the match in three sets.
- In the third set, the Bobcats had a 19-16 lead after recording five straight points. Duarte capped the run with a kill at 19-16. Embry-Riddle rallied late in the third for the 25-23 set win.
- The Eagles had a hitting percentage of .275 for the match to the Bobcats' .144. Sydney Stigler had a match-high 12 kills for Lees-McRae and Duarte followed with seven in the nightcap.
- Rosin led the Bobcats with 21 assists and Summerfield had double-digit digs with 11.
