ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. –
Sydney Stigler combined for 32 kills in two matches as Lees-McRae women's volleyball concluded the Flagler Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
GAME 1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Lenoir-Rhyne def. Lees-McRae, 3-1 (25-20, 6-28, 25-15, 25-23)
LOCATION: Flagler Gym – St. Augustine, Florida
RECORDS: Lenoir-Rhyne (6-1), Lees-McRae (0-6)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae faced a similar foe in the Flagler Invitational on Saturday morning with Lenoir-Rhyne. The Bears took the match in four sets.
- The Bobcats evened the match at one set apiece with a 28-26 set win after a kill from Stigler. LR recorded the match win with 25-15 and 25-23 set wins in the third and fourth sets.
- Stigler registered a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs. She also recorded seven service aces in the match. Jadyn Walters had 13 kills and six digs for the Bobcats. Iza Rosin collected 33 assists, four service aces, and 15 digs. Emma Summerfield tallied 19 digs in the morning session.
- Lenoir-Rhyne's Kayli Cleaver and Brooke Aeschliman had 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Emmie Modlin started the offense for the Bears with 21 assists.
GAME 2 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Newberry def. Lees-McRae, 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-23)
LOCATION: Flagler Gym - St. Augustine, Florida
RECORDS: Newberry (5-0), Lees-McRae (0-7)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Stigler had a season-high 19 kills in the last match of the invitational for the Bobcats. Rebecca Ryan followed with seven kills, 10 digs, and five total blocks.
- Lees-McRae took the lead at 23-22 in the second set, but two attack errors by the Bobcats led to the 25-23 win for Newberry.
- Newberry took the match in three sets with 25-23 set win in the third set. Anna Schneider led the Wolves with 16 kills and nine digs. Carole Ann Hussey and Evie Paalman followed with 12 and 10 kills, respectively.
