SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Lees-McRae men's cross country team kicked off its 2025 season with a sixth-place finish at the Converse Kick-Off Classic.
Josh Brett set a new school record in the 6K distance with a time of 19:44.6.

NOTABLES:
- Brett paced the Bobcats with an eighth-place finish in tonight's race hosted by Converse University.
- Domenic Bruzzo-Morello followed with a 38th place finish in a time of 20:54.7. Isaac Reyna followed closely behind with a time of 20:56.5 and placed 41st.
- Declan Conner finished the 6K distance with a time of 21:08.9 and Jackson Olsen completed the course with a time of 22:14.7.
- Jordan Cates, Conner Frizzell, Lodrick Scott, and Shane Secor rounded out the Bobcats in the season opener.
- UNC Pembroke placed first overall with 44 points and Converse's Ander Vera Moleres earned first place individually with a time of 19:11.3
