DUE WEST, S.C. – Lees-McRae men's soccer had its match abandoned on Saturday afternoon due to severe weather impacting the Due West, South Carolina area.
Luke Creed scored the lone goal on the afternoon for the Bobcats.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae – 1; Erskine – 0 (Abandoned at the 50:45 mark of the second half)
LOCATION: Huggins Field -- Due West, South Carolina
RECORDS: Lees-McRae (0-0-1/0-0-0), Erskine (0-0-0/0-0-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Creed fired in his first shot on goal at the 11th minute of the first half, but Erskine's goalkeeper Luca Baerwalde made the stop.
- Owen Smith recorded a shot on target in the 20th minute and Creed scored his first collegiate goal in the 24th minute off an assist from Santi Balza.
- The two sides played for almost six minutes into the second half before a lightning delay and the match was abandoned.
- Erskine and Lees-McRae will look to resume the match at a later date this season.
