BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball made its 2026 home debut on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court and the Bobcats defeated Central State in four sets on Friday evening.
Austin Beaird had a match-high 13 kills on a .450 hitting percentage.
Abdirahman Ahmed tallied 27 assists and six kills in tonight's victory.

FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae def. Central State, 3-1 (25-22, 25-13, 19-25, 25-23)

RECORDS: Lees-McRae (2-5); Central State (1-5)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae led 22-21 in the first set and earned the next two points to secure the set point opportunity at 24-21. The Marauders registered a service error for the 25-22 set win for the Bobcats.
- Lees-McRae recorded the second set at 25-13 after hitting .391 and 12 kills for the two-set lead.
- Central State forced the match to a fourth set after rallying back in the third with the 25-19 set win. The Bobcats closed the door on the Marauder comeback in the fourth set with the 25-23 set win. Jadon Ciriacks finished the match with a kill at 25-23.
- Beaird led the Bobcats with 13 kills on .450 hitting percentage and added seven digs and two blocks. Ciriacks and Davide Nicolini followed with seven kills apiece. Ahmed had an all-around performance with six kills, 27 assists, two aces, four blocks, and two digs in the match.
