BANNER ELK, N.C. — Lees-McRae women's lacrosse started Conference Carolinas play on Saturday afternoon on Tate Field. Lees-McRae battled Belmont Abbey, but the Bobcats ultimately fell to the Crusaders, 18-6, in Banner Elk.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Madison Primeau evened the score at 1-1 with a goal at the 10:52 mark of the first quarter. Primeau added her second goal of the day at the 5:58 mark of the first quarter.
- Courtney Bednarz and Crystal Johnson scored back-to-back goals to cut the deficit to 5-4 with 6:35 left in the opening half. Belmont Abbey took the 7-4 advantage into the halftime break.
- The Crusaders then used an 8-0 scoring run to start the second half and led 15-4. Primeau recorded her third goal of the day in the fourth and Taylor Murrell found the back of the net with 51 seconds remaining in the fourth period.
- Primeau collected a hat trick today to lead the Bobcats and tallied three draw controls. Bednarz had five draw controls in the contest. Johnson and Murrell followed with two draw controls apiece.
- Bailee Lizza made 11 saves in goal for Lees-McRae.
