BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's basketball concluded its 2026 regular season with a 74-59 Conference Carolinas loss to Belmont Abbey on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Kaylee Carson got the Bobcats on the board and stopped the 6-0 scoring run from Belmont Abbey with 6:34 to play in the first quarter. The Crusaders led 10-6 at the end of the first 10 minutes.
- Belmont Abbey used a 7-0 scoring run for the 29-13 advantage and held the 38-15 margin at the end of the first half.
- The Crusaders added to their lead in the third quarter and held off the Bobcats in the fourth for the 74-59 win on Wednesday night.
- Carson led the Bobcats with 14 points in 26 minutes of play and added seven steals. Sandra Mason and Kirsten Watt collected 11 points apiece. Nadiya Hairston recorded eight points and Braelyn Stilwell finished the contest with seven points, six rebounds, and five steals for Lees-McRae.

Lees-McRae women's basketball will be ranked No. 5 heading into the 2026 Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship. The Bobcats will face the winner of No. 8 UNC Pembroke/ No. 11 Ferrum on Monday, March 2 at 5 p.m. on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court.
