WILSON, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's lacrosse battled Palm Beach Atlantic on Friday afternoon, but the Sailfish picked up the 12-11 win in Wilson.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- PBA jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before Cayden Onagi and the Bobcats got on the board with 5:02 to play in the first quarter.
- Lees-McRae answered with four straight goals and led 4-3 at the 11:16 mark of the second period. PBA's Braylon Baker tied the contest at four goals and two sides headed into halftime deadlocked at 4-4.
- The Bobcats regained the lead at 5-4 and led 9-5 after a goal from Zack Gignac with 5:21 left in the third quarter. PBA then went on a 6-0 scoring run and led 11-9 with 10 minutes left in the game.
- Onagi recorded his fifth goal of the game as the Bobcats trailed by one with 7:40 left. The Sailfish scored a man-up goal with 6:48 remaining, but the Bobcats continued to pressure and scored with 3:08 left via Carter Whissell.
- PBA held off a last-second shot from Cole Morris and PBA picked the 12-11 in their season opener.
- Onagi led the Bobcats with five goals and one assist. Morris and Adam Ross followed with two goals apiece. Gignac and Whissell rounded out the scoring with one goal apiece.
