HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Lees-McRae men's lacrosse forced overtime in the season opener at the University of Alabama Huntsville, but the Chargers found the goal in the extra period for the 8-7 win on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Zack Gignac got the Bobcats on the board first with a man-up goal at the 11:35 mark of the first quarter. Cole Cameron added to the lead with an unassisted goal at the 8:54 mark of the opening quarter.
- UAH evened the score at two goals at the end of the first quarter and opened the second with a goal from Chris Aiello. The Bobcats tied the contest at 3-3 with a goal from Cole Morris.
- Cayden Onagi found the back of the four seconds remaining in the first half and Lees-McRae led the game, 4-3.
- Onagi tallied his second marker of the day and gave the Bobcats the two-goal advantage once again. UAH answered with three goals in a row before Onagi scored his third goal of the day with 4:17 left in the third.
- Morris sent the game into overtime with a goal with 17 seconds remaining in regulation.
- UAH recorded the face-off win in the overtime period and secured the win with a goal from Makai Hillmon.
- Onagi, in his Bobcat debut, tallied a hat trick and added an assist this afternoon. Morris joined him with a multi-goal game with two goals and four ground ball pickups.
- Alex Epple made 18 saves in goal for Lees-McRae and picked up 10 ground balls.
