DURHAM, N.C. – The Lees-McRae flag football team concluded its inaugural season on Saturday evening in the 2026 Conference Carolinas Women's Flag Football Championship Semifinals against Ferrum. The Bobcats fell to the Panthers, 27-20, inside the Durham County Memorial Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae answered an early 7-0 deficit in the second quarter with a 55-yard passing touchdown from Makenzie Hicks.
- The Bobcats added six more points with three minutes left in the second quarter for the 12-7 lead.
- Ferrum regained the lead in the third quarter and led 27-12 in the fourth quarter after scoring drives from Payson Shreeve.
- Lees-McRae battled back and pulled within one score of the Panthers after a quick scoring drive from Hicks and the Bobcats.
- The Bobcats then forced Ferrum to a quick punt, but Lees-McRae ran out of time in the final quarter.
- Hicks threw for 350 yards on 25 completions and two touchdowns for the Bobcats. Ava Rivera hauled in a team-high 135 receiving yards and 10 receptions. Ashley Alvarado and Kennedy Vannoy had four catches each.
- Mackenzie Walker led the defense with eight flag pulls. Sydney Stigler and Sandra Mason registered one interception each in the contest.
