BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College Head Men's Soccer Coach Taylor Morton announced the addition of Kevin Treminio as the assistant men's soccer coach.
"Kevin brings a tremendous amount of experience, energy, and a passion for developing student-athletes to our program," said Morton. "His background at the collegiate, club, and developmental levels, makes him a great fit for Lees-McRae. I am excited to welcome Kevin to Banner Elk and look forward to the impact he will have on our student-athletes and our men's soccer program."
Treminio comes to Banner Elk from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama where he served as an assistant men's soccer coach for the Badgers. Treminio was the head coach of the JV squad at Spring Hill for 2025.
"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join the Lees-McRae family", said Treminio. "From my conversations with Taylor (Morton), it was clear that this is a place built on relationships, high standards, and a genuine commitment to developing student-athletes. I'm excited to learn, grow, and do everything I can to help our players and program succeed."
From 2023-25, Treminio was part of the Southern States Soccer Club in Hattiesburg, Mississippi where they won the regular season in the National Premier Soccer League and made it to the Gulf Coast Conference Final.
Treminio was also part of Dothan United, United Soccer League 2, who won the Southern Conference Title and advanced to the national semifinals in 2025.
Treminio played at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College from 2020-2022 and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science in 2025. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Coaching and Sports Performance at Southern Mississippi. Treminio also holds a UEFA B License.
