Peyton Volk-Tuller recorded a career-high 18 kills and
Joy Bateman tallied 10 kills in today's matches at the Fairmont State Volleyball Classic.
GAME 1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Fairmont State def. Lees-McRae, 3-1 (25-13, 25-13, 20-25, 25-12)
LOCATION: Joe Retton Arena – Fairmont, West Virginia
RECORDS: Fairmont State (2-1), Lees-McRae (0-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae battled the host team Fairmont State on Saturday afternoon and the Fighting Falcons defeated the Bobcats in four sets.
- The Bobcats forced the fourth set with a 25-20 set victory in the third set after hitting .310. The Bobcats fell in the fourth set at 25-12.
- Bateman led the Bobcats with 10 kills and added four blocks in the match. Volk-Tuller and Karoline Springman had six kills apiece in the contest.
- Aadyn Polk contributed 25 assists in four sets and Addi Stables had 11 digs.
GAME 2 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Bowie State def. Lees-McRae, 3-1 (25-18, 25-16, 24-26, 25-23)
LOCATION: Joe Retton Arena - Fairmont, West Virginia
RECORDS: Bowie State (2-2), Lees-McRae (0-4)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae concluded its fourth match of the weekend with a four-set loss to Bowie State. The Bobcats earned the third set at 26-24, but fell to the Bulldogs in four sets.
- Volk-Tuller paced the Bobcats with a career-high 18 kills on a .238 hitting percentage in the match. Caylee William narrowly missed double-digit kills with nine kills in the contest.
- Iza Rosin distributed 20 assists in the match and Polk had 16 assists. Brooke Ashkenase collected 14 digs for the Bobcats.
