BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's volleyball earned the five-set victory over Chowan in the Bobcats' home opener on Friday night.
Peyton Volk-Tuller led the Bobcats with 16 kills in the contest.

FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae def. Chowan, 3-2 (24-26, 25-21, 25-22, 15-25, 15-10)

RECORDS: Chowan (2-7/1-1); Lees-McRae (1-9/1-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae held set points at 24-22 in the first set, but Chowan rallied for the 26-24 opening set win.
- The Bobcats evened the match at one set with a 25-21 set win in the second set and carried the momentum into the third set with a 25-22 set win.
- Chowan forced a fifth and final set with an impressive 25-15 win in the fourth set after hitting .444.
- Lees-McRae bounced back in the fifth set and used a six-point scoring run for the 11-6 lead. Joy Bateman and Addi Stables combined for the block assist for the 15-10 set victory.
- Volk-Tuller had a match-high 16 kills on a .273 hitting percentage to lead the Bobcat attack. Stables finished the contest with 10 kills and 11 digs. Karoline Springman and Naomi Locklear combined for 17 kills.
- Iza Rosin contributed 27 assists for the Bobcats and Aadyn Polk chipped in 19 assists tonight. Brooke Ashkenase had 16 digs from her libero position.
- Lees-McRae Head Women's Volleyball Coach Courtney Weathersbee earned her first collegiate coaching victory with the five-set win.
