Men's and Women's Soccer Both Ranked in United Soccer Coaches Regional Rankings

BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's and women's soccer are both ranked in the recent United Soccer Coaches Southeast Regional Rankings. The Bobcat men's program is ranked seventh while the women's team earns the ranking of 10th.

Lees-McRae men's soccer is currently 7-0-2 overall and 4-0-2 in Conference Carolinas play. The Bobcats have won their last three matches by a combined score of 8-1 and have not allowed a goal on Tate Field since October 28, 2025.

Lees-McRae women's soccer joined men's soccer in the regional rankings for the first time in 2026 with an overall record of 5-1-2 and 4-0-2 in conference matches. The Bobcats are on a two-match win streak with victories over King and Erskine the past week.

The last confirmed time both programs appeared in the regional rankings simultaneously came during the 2011 season. On October 25, 2011, the Lees-McRae men were ranked fifth in the Southeast Region and the women were ranked No. 6. The 2011 season proved to be a memorable one for Bobcat soccer, with both programs advancing to NCAA postseason competition

Lees-McRae women's soccer hosts Carson-Newman this evening on Tate Field at 4:30 p.m. and the Bobcat men's program plays Tusculum at 7 p.m. on Tate Field.
