Biography

2019-20 Season (Junior) - In his third season at Lees-McRae, Bertie competed in four meets...Bertie competed solely in the 3000m run and the distance medley relay (DMR) events...He set a new career-low time in the 3000m at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships with a mark of 9:11.01...Furthermore, at the same event Bertie and his teammates placed second in the DMR race and in doing so set a new program record in the event with a time of 10:50.67. 

2018-19 Season (Sophomore) - Bertie posted results in eight different meets as a sophomore...He competed in the mile, 1500m and distance medley relay (DMR)...He earned All-Conference honors as part of the second-place DMR team at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships (10:52.60). 

2017-18 Season (Freshman) - During his freshman campaign in Banner Elk, Bertie competed in 12 different meets...Took part in the 800m, 1500m and mile runs in 2018...Highlight of Bertie's freshman campaign came at the Catamount Classic where he posted a personal-best time of 4:09.97 in the 1500m run...His time in that race ranked 10th among Conference Carolinas runners in that event in 2018.
