Alex Ulrich joined the Lees-McRae men's basketball staff in August 2023 and will serve as a graduate assistant for the Bobcats.

Ulrich comes to Banner Elk from Muskego, Wisconsin where he served as the JV Head Boys Basketball Coach at Muskego High School.

Ulrich assisted with different basketball programming at the Milwaukee Bucks Youth Camps from March 2021 to April 2023 where he helped Lance Foreman in skill sessions, camps, and clinics. Ulrich served as an educational assistant at Bay Lane Elementary in Muskego, Wisconsin as well.

Ulrich has also served in the capacities of Strength and Conditioning Coach at Bridgewater Performance and Head Freshman Basketball Coach at Muskego High School.

Ulrich earned a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science from Carroll University and a minor in Sports Nutrition. He is a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches and earned the Rising Coaches Impact Award in 2022.
