Dylan Casper enters his second year as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Lees-McRae College.

Caspar comes to Lees-McRae after training student-athletes at his alma mater Queens University of Charlotte and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, working specifically with the track & field team which went on to win the C-USA outdoor championships.

"It is an honor being able to join the Lees-McRae family and athletic department," said Caspar. "I am excited about the opportunity to come in and work with the student-athletes. I would like to thank athletic director Craig McPhail for entrusting me with this responsibility. It is my goal to help elevate the strength & conditioning department and provide the student-athletes with the best training possible."

A graduate of Queens University of Charlotte, Caspar completed his degree in sports and exercise science, while also spending four years serving the men's lacrosse team. He competed two years as a player before being medically disqualified and transitioning to a student assistant for his junior and senior seasons. Following graduation, he was brought on as sports performance coach where he worked with men's volleyball, women's rugby, triathlon, track and field, cross country and cheerleading from 2017-2019.

"Dylan's knowledge and grasp of what we are wanting to do with our strength and conditioning program was evident from the first conversation we had," said McPhail. "He is an impressive young man with vast experiences. We are looking forward to seeing him work with our student-athletes and coaches to further enhance their experience."

Caspar also completed two internships at Charlotte Country Day School working under Darnell Clark, who also serves as the Director for the NSCA. During his time at CCDS, Caspar worked with all fall sports teams which included football, basketball, soccer, field hockey, and cross country. During the summer of 2016, Caspar interned with the Clemson University Strength and Conditioning department for Olympic Sports where he was able to gain experience working with the baseball, men's and women's soccer, track and field, and volleyball programs.

Caspar is CSCS certified through the NSCA and CPR/First aid certified through the Red Cross.
