Patrick Smith became the new Creative Content Manager on August 16, 2022. He was named Director of Sports Information at Lees-McRae College on May 6, 2020.

Smith, who is originally a native of Upstate New York, will be responsible for all aspects of sports information, including media relations, website and social media development and game statistics among other tasks.

"I'm excited to become part of the Lees-McRae family," said Smith. "It truly is an honor to be a part of an athletic department that puts an emphasis on fulfilling the needs of their student-athletes. I'm looking forward to becoming part of the Bobcat Nation and the "BEmore" culture!"

Smith comes to Lees-McRae after spending the previous three years at Buffalo State College where he served as the Sports Information Assistant and Social Media Coordinator. While at Buffalo State, Smith was responsible for serving as a game manager, media promotion, developing and posting press releases to the athletic department’s SIDEARM website. In addition to his work at Buffalo State, Smith also served as a contracted statistician for all three NCAA Divisions in a variety of athletic contests.

"I'm excited for Patrick as well as our staff. He was our top candidate, selected by our committee as someone who can further elevate Bobcat athletics," said Lees-McRae College Vice President of Athletics and Club Sports Craig McPhail. "His skills, personality and work ethic came through to us as someone who will be a great teammate in the department as well as community."

Prior to starting at Buffalo State, Smith was an undergraduate sports management student at Cazenovia College where he graduated in May of 2017. While in school, Smith established and managed a live-broadcasting team for their athletic events as well as serving as the co-creator and co-host of a bi-weekly sports radio show entitled “The Roar”.
