Bethany Seman was hired as an Athletic Trainer at Lees-McRae College on Jan. 7, 2021 by Associate Athletic Director and Healthcare Administrator Rita Smith, to work primarily with the women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse and both the men’s and women’s tennis and cross country teams, while providing support for Lees-McRae’s 25 athletic programs.
Seman comes to the mountains from Kentucky Wesleyan College, where she served as a Certified Athletic Training Intern for their NCAA Division II women’s volleyball program. While in Owensboro, Kentucky, Seman’s main responsibilities included evaluating injuries, designing and facilitating rehabilitation plans, and using SportsWare to document injuries among other duties. In addition to working at Kentucky Wesleyan, Seman worked as an athletic trainer at the Fuller Physical Therapy Clinic in Owensboro, providing game coverage for local high schools.
Prior to her experience in Kentucky, Seman received her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Cedarville University, where she served as an athletic training student for two years with the NCAA Division II women’s basketball, softball and men’s and women’s cross country programs. Seman also worked as an athletic training intern with both the Xenia Scouts baseball team and the Beavercreek High School football team.

Seman currently resides in Banner Elk and is actively pursuing her Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Wellness (concentration in fitness and performance) from Liberty University.
