Brittany Lawson is in her sixth year as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and first here at Lees-McRae. Lawson joined Head Women's Basketball Coach Quante Lee's staff in May 2023 from Carolina University.
In her first year at Carolina University, Lawson coached two first team All-Region players as well as one All-American. In addition to individual success, the Bruins were the third-highest ranked scoring defense in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) after only allowing 57.9 points per game.
Prior to joining the Bruins, Lawson spent most of her career coaching and playing at the NAIA level. She started her coaching career at Harris Stowe State University in St. Louis Missouri, where she wa an assistant coach for three years and became the Interim Head Coach in 2021.
In her collegiate career, Lawson was a defensive force in the paint at Cumberland University, where she led the conference in blocked shots and rebounds while being ranked nationally in both categories. Lawson, who is from St. Louis, Missouri, graduated from Cumberland University with a bachelor's degree in Sport Management.
