Caty Honey played her second consecutive errorless match Tuesday
evening, helping to lead the Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats
volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep (30-26, 30-20, and 30-19) over
Queens University in Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference
play.
Queens put up a vigorous fight in game one, as the teams traded
points for much of the game before the Lady Bobcats pulled away.
Games two and three saw the Lady Bobcats grab early leads and
cruise to the three game sweep, their second over the Lady Royals
this season.
"When our middles both hit over .500, we will be tough to beat,"
commented Head Coach Jamie Petrik. "(Caty) Honey has been playing
errorless ball the past few matches. She is making great decisions
on each set."
Huffaker buried 10 kills hitting .555, while Katie Marie Legg
hit .571 with 9 kills. Smith and Honey added 10 and five kills
respectively, while Smith and Nicole Burns each put up four service
aces. Trisha Reese led the Lady Bobcats with a team high 19
assists.
The Lady Bobcats will return to the court this Friday at
6:00p.m. when they host Pfeiffer University in CVAC action.
