The top seeded Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats defeated the 8th seeded
Pfeiffer University Falcons 3-0 (30-28, 30-19, 30-24) in
quarterfinal action of the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference.
With the win, Lees-McRae advances to the semi-finals where they
will face Anderson University. Pfeiffer ends their season with a
10-20 record, while the Lady Bobcats move to 27-7.
Tiarra Pendleton (pictured left) led the Lady Bobcats attack
with a match high 12 kills. Pendleton also picked up 8 digs, 3
service aces, 2 solo blocks and 2 block assists in the match.
Daviana Metti, who had 9 kills, led the team defensively with 10
digs while Amanda Huffaker added 7 digs. Metti also led the team
with 4 service aces. Trisha Reese added 2 aces. Reese led the
team with 22 assists, while Lauren Dickover dished out 20 assists.
Katie Legg led the Bobcats' blocking efforts with 4 block assists.
Caty Honey recorded 3 block assists and 1 solo.
Pfeiffer was led offensively by Brittany Dickens with 6 kills.
Dickens also had 2 blocks in the match. Gaby McKinley, Victoria
Parrish, and Petra Ljubicic each had 5 kills in the match.
McKinley also had 14 digs. Morgan Liebert led the team in aces (3)
and assists (20).
The Lady Bobcats swept the season series with the Lady Trojans,
two games to none. The Lady Bobcats won 3-0, (30-22, 30-22, and
30-15) in the first game played at Anderson, and 3-1 at home,
(30-12, 30-27, 25-30, 30-23).
