Preseason AVCA All American Amanda Huffaker and Caty Honey each
tallied 11 kills leading the Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats volleyball
team to a 3-1 win over Barton College. The win gives the Lady
Bobcats an 8-1 record in Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference
play, and improves their overall record to 16-6.
The Lady Bobcats seemed to start and finish strong in the second
game in two days of their eastern swing against the eastern CVAC
schools, 30-14, 30-26, 28-30, and 30-15. Huffaker also added three
block assists while fellow Preseason AVCA All American Lacie Smith
put together an all around game contributing 10 kills, one solo
block, three block assists and a team high 16 digs. Natalie Burns
was also good for 10 kills; while Lauren Dickover had a career high
36 assists and put up two service aces to help the cause.
The Lady Bobcats will travel to Charlotte, NC Tuesday evening
for a rematch of last week's 3-0 sweep over CVAC foe Queen's
University. Game time is set for 6:30p.m.
