The Lees-McRae College men's basketball team once again dug
themselves a hole they could not get out of, as Erskine jumped out
to a 17 point lead early in the second half and managed to hold off
the Bobcats rally for 66-57 win in Carolinas-Virginia Athletic
Conference play Thursday. The Bobcats fall to 5-21, (4-15
CVAC).
Erskine's Jason Winecoff came off the bench to score all his 11
points after a 12-0 Lees-McRae run had cut Erskine's lead to 44-39
with 13:28 remaining. The Bobcats never got closer, as Erskine
extended its lead to 60-47 with 4:44 to play and coasted to the
win.
Winecoff was among four Fleet players in double figures. Brandon
Wright had a game high 17 points, T.J. Taylor, and Craig Williams
added 15 and 14 respectively. Aaron Dugger,
(pictured bottom left), paced the Bobcats with 15 points while
Henry Williams, (pictured top left), added 10.
The Bobcats will close out the regular season Saturday afternoon
when they host Coker College at 4:00pm. Prior to the game, seniors
Dugger, Williams and Mike Fox, (pictured bottom right), will be
honored.
