The Lees-McRae Bobcats lacrosse team hosted regional rival Mars
Hill College Saturday afternoon, falling 24-4 to the mighty Lions
in non-conference action.
After Kevin Woods opened the scoring just 31 seconds in with a
man up goal, Landon Yong responded for the Bobcats at 12:14 of the
first quarter with his first collegiate goal. Woods regained the
lead for the Lions at 10:48, igniting an 8-0 run allowing the
visitors to gain full control of the contest.
Woods led the Lions with a game high four goals while David
Hodgins all scorers with seven points, scoring three and setting up
four. Christian McLean and Brad Campbell and Danny Farmer also
registered hat tricks for Mars Hill while eight others chipped in
singles.
Jason Schafhauser scored his team leading 13th goal of the
season, while Neil Sleight scored his ninth, tying his last
season's output. Young and Kyle Ficken round out the scoring for
the Bobcats, with Ficken, (pictured top left), drawing an assist on
Young's goal for his second straight multi point game.
The Bobcats will resume non-conference action Wednesday
afternoon when they travel to Greensboro College for a 3:30pm
start.
