The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats hosted Queen's University of
Charlotte Saturday afternoon in Carolinas-Virginia Athletic
Conference action, falling 6-4 and 12-6. The Lady Bobcats record
now stands at 11-17, (1-7 CVAC).
After jumping out to an early 4-0 lead in the bottom of the
first inning, the Lady Bobcats offense fell asleep. The Lady
Royals crossed the plate three time in the second and once in the
third to knot things at four a piece. Each team held one another
scoreless until the seventh, when the Lady Royals put up a pair,
making the count 6-4 in favor of the visitors. Unfortunately the
Lady Bobcats were unable to put together any late game heroics as
they had against King College days earlier. Amanda Dodson went the
distance on the mound striking out seven in game one. Dodson,
(pictured top left), also contributed offensively going two for
three and adding two RBI from the plate.
Lauren Gisler started game two for the Lady Bobcats but ran into
some hot bats from the Lady Royals, as the visitors double
Lees-McRae 12-6. Gisler struck out two while giving up eleven runs
off ten hits before Jessica Kinsey relieved her in the sixth.
Dodson was again the leader from the plate going two for four as
did Salle Horner. Paula Fryar went two for three with two RBI for
the Lady Bobcats.
The Lady Bobcats will host Limestone College in a double header
set for Thursday March 29th. Games are set for 2:00pm and
4:00pm.
