CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Nick Robinson scored to give the 20th ranked
Lees-McRae College Bobcats (12-2-1, 6-0-1) a 1-0 win over the
Queens University of Charlotte Royals (6-5-1, 2-4-1) at the Queens
University of Charlotte Sports Complex at Marion Diehl Park
Wednesday night.
Robinson's (Melbourne, Australia) goal came in the 6th minute
when he scored on a David Palmer (Gateshead, England) cross. It
was Robinson's fourth game-winning goal of the season.
Dylan Lawrence (Lawsonville, N.C.) made two saves to earn his third
shutout of the season. It was the eighth time this year the
Bobcats have blanked their opponents.
The Royals outshot the Bobcats 13-11, but the Bobcats had four
shots on frame compared to the Royals two. The Bobcats also took
11 corners compared to the Royals one.
"It was a tough atmosphere tonight so it was a great win for us,"
head coach Chris Whalley said. "We played well and should have won
by more than the scoreboard shows.
The Bobcats' next match is at Erskine College Saturday, October
18th.
