WILSON, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats defeated the
Barton College Lady Bulldogs, 25-12, 25-18, 23-25, 25-13, on
Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas regular-season
volleyball finale.
Taylor Stice (Franklin, Tenn.), Megan Epperson (St. John, Ind.)
and Whitney Kiser (Connelly Springs, N.C.) accounted for nine kills
apiece to pace the Lady Bobcats. Kiser and Katie Legg (Alta Loma,
Calif.) notched four blocks apiece and Stice added three. Trisha
Reese (Hanover, Penn.) dished out 27 assists while Lauren Hall
(Enka, N.C.) had four aces. Defensively, Kell Bogdan (Leawood,
Kan.) recorded 20 digs, Epperson 18 and Lindsey Brant (Orlando,
Fla) 11.
For Barton, junior Melissa Ritter had 20 kills and 20 digs and
senior Liz Strange finished with 11 kills, 11 digs, one block and
one ace. Freshman Cami Fledderman had 17 assists, five digs and one
ace.
The Lady Bobcats finished fourth in the league standings at 14-6
and stand 17-14 overall. Barton finished tied for 8th in the league
at 7-13 and is 9-21 heading into the first round of the Conference
Carolinas Tournament. The Lady Bobcats will host Mount Olive
Wednesday, November 12th at 6:30 p.m. in the first round of the
tournament.
