GAFFNEY, SC--The Lees-McRae Bobcats opened Conference Carolinas
men's lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon, falling 22-3 to the #4
Limestone College Saints. The Bobcats fall to 1-2 (0-1 Conference
Carolinas) while the nationally ranked Saints start the year
1-0.
The powerful Saints, participants in the last eight NCAA
Division II Final Fours were led by Brendan Storrier and Justin
Haworth, each finding the back of the net five times. Lees-McRae
sophomore Kyle Ficken (Brooklyn Park, MN) led the Bobcats with a
pair of goals while Neil Sleight (Williamsburg, VA) added the other
Lees-McRae tally. Freshman Eddy Dolan (New Mills, England) led the
Bobcats with five ground balls.
In goal freshman Andrew Nesdill (Phoenix, AZ) got his first
collegiate start recording 12 saves in the first half. Senior Adam
Canoy (Durham, NC) played the second half and picked up four
saves.
The Bobcats will hit the road March 2nd for a non-conference
match up with Wheeling Jesuit University. Game time is set for
1:00pm.
