Simpsonville, S.C.--The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats were upset by
St. Andrews Presbyterian College 1-0 this morning in the first
round of the Conference Carolinas Championship Tournament held in
Simpsonville, S.C. The Lady Bobcats will take to the field again
Saturday morning at 9:00am as they take on Anderson University in
the double elimination tournament.
Sophomore pitcher Amanda Dodson (Walnut Cove, N.C.) took to the
mound for the Lady Bobcats, striking out nine batters and allowing
only six hits. Freshman Paige Coleman (Thomasville, N.C.) went 2-4
from the plate, hitting two singles in the game.
The winning pitcher for the Knights was Samantha Stewart, who
allowed only two hits. Erin Haugen was 2-4 with two singles and
scored the solo run for St. Andrews while Nicole Easter also went
2-4 with two singles on the day.
