THOMASVILLE, NC - Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats softball player Amanda
Dodson has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference
Carolinas softball Pitcher of the Week during week number nine in
the 2008 season. This is the second week that Dodson has received
the Pitcher of the Week award, claiming the honor for the first
time this season in week number four.
Dodson threw the first no-hitter in Lees-McRae softball history
Sunday afternoon, striking out four over seven innings and only
giving up three walks to the 24 batters she faced. The Lady
Bobcats won the contest 4-0 on Pfeiffer University's senior night,
and used the momentum from Dodson's no-hitter to sweep the Lady
Falcons and take the second game of the double header 3-2.
