JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. -- The Lady Bobcats lost 3-0 (12-25,
10-25, 22-25) to Lincoln Memorial in game one and fell to Augusta
State 3-1 (21-25, 22-25, 26-24, 17-25) in game two on day one of
the Carson-Newman Tournament.
In game one against Lincoln Memorial, sophomore Whitney Kiser (Connelly Springs, N.C.) led the
Lady Bobcats in kills with six and Katie Legg (Alto Loma, Calif.) added four. Kell Bogdan (Leawood, Kans.) picked up six
digs to lead the team, and Lauren Dickover dished out nine
assists. Freshman Megan Epperson (St. John, Ind.) added three
service aces.
In game two against Augusta State, Bogdan collected 21 digs and
three service aces for the Lady Bobcats. Another freshman, Lauren Hall (Enka, N.C.) led the team with
eight kills, and Epperson added six to the Bobcat attack. Dickover
handed out 18 assists while Trisha Reese added 12 assists. Reese
also had three service aces.
The Lady Bobcats will take the court on day two of the
Carson-Newman Tournament at 10:00 a.m. against the host
Carson-Newman and again at 2:00 p.m. against West Virginia
State.
