JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. -- The Lady Bobcats lost a pair of matches
Saturday on day two of the Carson-Newman Tournament. In match one
the Lady Bobcats were defeated 3-1 by Carson-Newman (21-25, 23-25,
25-22,16-25) and in match two they fell 3-1 to West Virginia State
(23-25, 25-23, 13-25, 23-25).
In match one against host Carson-Newman senior Natalie Burns (Orlando, Fla.) led the team
with eight kills, while Lauren Hall (Enka, N.C.) and Taylor Stice had sevens kills. Trisha Reese (Hanover, Penn.) dished out 18
assists and had two service aces. Lauren Dickover (Las Vegas, Nev.) handed out
15 assists.
Freshman Megan Epperson (St. John, Ind.) led the Lady
Bobcats offense in match two against West Virginia State with 14
kills and eight digs. Sophomore Kell Bogdan (Leawood, Kans.) picked up 22 digs
to give her second 20-dig match of the weekend. Reese had 20
assists and Whitney Kiser had four service aces.
Bogdan was named the the All-Tournament Team.
With the losses, the Lady Bobcats fall to 0-4 on the year.
The Lady Bobcats will take the court again Friday in Wingate, NC
for the Wingate Tournament.
