BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Daylen Morrow picked up a loose ball in the
89th minute in the box and found the back of the net to give the
UNC-Pembroke Braves a 2-1 win over the Lees-McRae Bobcats Sunday
night at Tate Field.
Lee Squires (Sheffield, England) got the
Bobcats on the scoreboard in the first half when he caught a Logan Linton (Cocoa, Fla.) cross and flipped
it into the goal in the 29th minute to make it 1-0. It was
Squires' fourth goal and Linton's third assist in two matches.
However, the Braves answered in the 44th minute when Moses Dimmock
picked up a loose ball on a free kick and scored to tie the game at
one.
In the 89th minute, after a grueling second half and the Bobcats
down a man, Morrow's one-timer ended the match.
With the loss the Bobcats, ranked tenth in nation, fall to 1-1 on
the year, while the Braves improve to 1-1.
The Bobcats will host Mars Hill College Friday, September 5th at
7:00 p.m.
