BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Lee Squires had two goals to lead the
Lees-McRae Bobcats to a 4-0 win over the Mars Hill Lions, who were
previously ranked sixth in the southeast region.
Squires' first goal came in the 38th minute when he took a
throw-in across the field and fired a shot, which beat the keeper
at the far post to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
With the Bobcats continuing to pressure the Lions, Dale
Parker (Worksop, England) scored his first goal of the season
on a header from a free kick service by freshman Jamie
Price (Wales) to give the Bobcats a 2-0 margin at the 42nd
minute mark.
In the 52nd minute, Squires beat two Lions' defenders and the
keeper on a far post shot to make it 3-0.
The final goal came in the 72nd minute, when Jamie Price scored his
first goal of the year on a free kick from 20 yards for the final,
4-0.
Squires, a sophomore from England, leads the Bobcats with six goals
in three games.

Paradise (North Point, Fla.) earned his first shut-out of the
season with four saves in net for the Bobcats.
"We played to our potential tonight," said Bobcat head coach Chris
Whalley. " I am very proud of our effort and the way we kept our
composure."
With the win the Bobcats, ranked ninth in the southeast region,
improve to 2-1, while Mars Hills falls to 2-1.
The Bobcats will host Chowan College Saturday at 7 p.m. at Tate
Field in non-conference action.
