ANDERSON, S.C. - The No. 1 Lees-McRae College Bobcats tied the
No. 15 Anderson University Trojans, 1-1, Tuesday night in a
physical double-overtime Conference Carolinas men's soccer
match.
With the tie, the Bobcats go to 12-0-1 overall and 8-0-1 in the
conference, while Anderson slips to 10-1-2 overall and 5-1-2 in the
conference.
David Palmer put the Bobcats on the scoreboard first 15 minutes
into the match when he beat the keeper for the goal.
The match remained tied until the 85th minute when a Lasse
Sohrweide freekick bounced off a Bobcat defender and into the
net.
Neither team could push across a goal in either overtime period,
despite have quality chances to win the match.
Bobcat keeper Sean Paradise made ten saves in the match, while
Trojan goalie, Benjamin Pepion made three saves.
Anderson outshot Lees-McRae 18-11 and held an 11-4 corner kick
advantage.
The Bobcats will return to action Saturday night against
Tusculum with game time set for 6:30 at Tate Field for a regional
match.
