GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team
return to their winning ways with a 3-1 (26-24, 25-22, 17-25,
25-27) win over UNC-Pembroke then a 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-17) win
over USC-Aiken on day two of Lander University's Dig Pink
Tournament.
With the two wins, the Lady Bobcats improve to 20-5 overall.
In the first match against UNC-Pembroke, Whitney Justice led the
Bobcats with 21 kills and six total blocks. Megan Epperson
followed with 15 kills and four block assists, and Taylor Clendenin
had five block assists. Trisha Reese handed out 52 assists and had
three service aces.
Defensively, Luana Rocha had 39 digs for he second 30-dig match
in the tournament. Rocha also had eight service aces. Lauren
Dickover chipped in on defense with 20 digs, as well.
In match two against USC-Aiken, Katie-Marie Legg paced the
attack with 13 kills. She also led the team with five blocks.
Justice and Epperson had 11 and ten kills apiece. Rocha collected
21 digs, and Epperson had 10 digs. Megan Mitchell had 24 assists
in the match.
The Lady Bobcats' next match will be at home against Pfeiffer on
Tuesday at 7 p.m.
