BANNER ELK, N.C. - The No. 7 Lees-McRae College Bobcats (4-0)
men's soccer team had eight goals from seven different players in
their 8-1 win over the Erskine College Flying Fleet (0-4-1)
Saturday in a Conference Carolinas match at Tate Field.
Jamie Price and David Palmer led the Bobcats with five total
points in the match. Price had a goal and three
assists, and Palmer had a two goals and an
assist. Richard Guffens had four points, one goal and
two assists.
Guffens scored the first goal of the match in the second
minute of action on an assist from Palmer. Palmer
scored his first goal of the season in the 10th minute on an assist
from Price and Guffens. Palmer followed with his second goal one
minute later on an assist from Price.
Price followed with a goal in the 21st minute on an assist
from Luke Perry, and Jamie Bladen added a goal in the 34th minute
on Perry's second assist of the match.
Berin Boracic scored the sixth and final goal of the second
half for the Bobcats in the 36th minute on an assists from Luke
Staats.
In the second half, Jarret Fleharty scored his first goal of
the season on a diving header on Price's third assist of the match
in the 53rd minute.
Adam Burden scored the Bobcats eighth goal in the 80th minute
on an assist from Guffens and Dylan Lawrence.
Erskine scored their only goal in the 88th minute off the
foot of Lyle McDaniel to give the game the final score of
8-1.
The Bobcats will travel to Limestone Saturday, September 19th
for their next match.
