BANNER ELK, N.C. - Senior, Katie-Marie Legg, had 13 kills and a
.308 hitting percent in the Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats
volleyball team's win, 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-17) over
Conference Carolinas opponent the Pfeiffer University Falcons
Saturday afternoon in Williams Gym.
After falling in the fist set, 25-23, the Lady Bobcats rallied
to win set two 25-22 and set three 25-16. Lees-McRae
ended the match with a 25-17 set three win to earn their first
conference win of the season and improve to 5-3
overall. Pfeiffer falls to 3-6 overall and 0-1 in the
conference.
Legg's 13-kill effort led the Lady Bobcat offense that placed
four hitters in double digits. Megan Epperson had 12
kills and a .346 hitting percentage. Taylor Clendenin
had 12 kills, and Whitney Justice followed with 11 kills. Megan
Mitchell passed out 47 assists, and Luana Rocha collected 18
digs.
For Pfeiffer, Kristina Mordini led the team with eight
kills. Vanessa Gerig handed out 23 assists, and Kaci
Markham had 14 digs.
The Bobcats will play Tuesday, September 15th when they
travel to Belmont Abbey.
