BELMONT, N.C. - Freshman Taylor Clendenin had a match-high ten
kills and Conference Carolinas Player of the Week Megan Mitchell
handed out 37 assists in the Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats three
set win, 25-21, 25-1, 25-23, over the Belmont Abbey Lady Crusaders
Tuesday night in Conference Carolinas volleyball action.
The Lady Bobcats never trailed throughout the entire match and
improved their record to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the conference,
while the Lady Crusaders fall to 1-6 overall and 1-1 in the
conference.
Whitney Justice and Katie-Marie Legg followed Clendenin's
match-high in kills with nine kill apiece. Legg
sported a whopping .818 hitting percentage. Her nine
kills came on 11 attempts with no errors. Justice's
nine kills came on 14 attempts with one
error. Clendenin followed with a .412 hitting
percentage, 17 attempts and three errors. As a team,
Lees-McRae hit an outstanding .333, 43 kills on 90 attempts with 13
errors.
Luana Rocha paced the Lady Bobcats with 15
digs. Legg, Mitchell and Megan Epperson had a two
service aces apiece, and Clendenin led the team with two block
assists.
Lees-McRae will return to the hardwood Friday, September 18th
when they travel to play Coker College.
