HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats women's
volleyball team used a total team effort with nine team blocks and
a .411 team hitting percentage to sweep the Coker College Lady
Cobras 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-15) Friday night in Conference
Carolinas volleyball action.
The Lady Bobcats controlled the match from the
start. They had a .538 hitting percentage in the first
set with 14 kills on 26 attempts with no errors to win
25-11. They had two errors in set two in a 25-15 win,
and finished the match in the third set with a 25-15 win.
Megan Epperson and Taylor Clendenin led Lees-McRae with eight
kills. Epperson had .368 hitting percentage in the
match -- eight kills, one error and 19
attempts. Justine Congdon and Whitney Justice followed
with six kills. Justice led the Lady Bobcats with .455 hitting
percentage - six kills, one error and 11
attempts. Clendenin led the team with six block
assists, and Katie-Marie Legg had five block
assists. Trisha Reese had 22 assists, and Lauren
Dickover passed out 11 assists. Launa Rocha was the
team's defensive leader with 14 digs, and she also had three
service aces.
The Lees-McRae improves to 7-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference,
while Coker falls to 1-11 overall and 0-3 in the
conference. The Lady Bobcats are currently riding a
three-match win streak, which is one win shy of their
season-opening four-match win streak.
The Lady Bobcats travel to St. Andrews Saturday for their
next match.
