PEMBROKE, N.C. - Berin Boracic scored twice as the No. 4
Lees-McRae College Bobcats won an overtime thriller, 2-1, over the
UNC-Pembroke Braves Wednesday night in nonconference men's soccer
action.
Boracic scored the first goal of the game in the 48th minute on
an assist from David Palmer to give the Bobcats a 1-0
lead.
But, the Braves would answer with the game-tying goal in the
79th minute of the foot of Rondell Honora to send the match into
overtime.
Boracic scored the game winner in the 103rd minute again on
an assist from Palmer.
Sean Paradise earned the win between the pipes for the
Bobcats with five saves, while Tom Courtney took the loss for the
Braves with two saves.
Lees-McRae outshot the UNCP 13-12 and held an 11-4 corner
kick advantage.
With the win, the Bobcats improved to 6-0, while the Braves
fall to 3-4-1.
Lees-McRae travels to Coker College Saturday, September 26th
for their next match.
