HARTSVILLE, S.C. - A pair of hat tricks led the Lees-McRae's
women's soccer team to a 6-1 win over the Coker Lady Cobras in
Conference Carolinas women's soccer action Saturday afternoon.
The loss drops Coker to 0-8 overall and 0-4 in the
conference, while the Bobcats improve to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the
conference. The Lady Bobcats sit atop the conference
tied for with Belmont Abbey.
Vickie
Rich earned the Bobcats first hat trick of the match, as she netted
all three goals in the first half of play. Aerial Gregston got the
second hat trick with two goals in the first half and one in the
second. Gregston also had two assists on the day, while Shaina
Ormsby and Alleshia Fisher each had an assist as well.
Coker's
lone goal came in the 41st minute when Bridget
Clark blasted a shot from just outside the 18-yard box
past the diving keeper.
Lees-McRae keeper Brittany Bolton had six saves to earn the
win
"We are very excited with this win since we lost to them
last season," head coach Renee Lopez said. "Our ladies finished
their opportunities tonight and played up to their potential. I am
especially want to commend Aerial and Vickie for their hat
tricks."
The
Lady Bobcats will host Barton Wednesday, September 30th with
kick-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Tate Field.
